Organising a wedding abroad can be very nerve racking as you have little opportunity to view people’s work. Finding a good photographer is one of the most important decisions to make and is extremely difficult using only the internet. However, when we first saw Julian’s work on the internet, we were struck by the pure simplicity and uniqueness of his work shots. I then contacted Julian who emailed me some examples of his work at a previous wedding in Venice. Each photo was so beautiful and everyone looked so comfortable.
After speaking to Julian, it was clear that he was very laid back but knew exactly what we wanted. I felt completely at ease that we had made the right decision. Julian was always on hand to answer any of my queries and completely put my mind at ease.
On the day of the wedding, Julian arrived on time and soon set to work – not that I particularly noticed as his style is very much to be in the background. My husband, who is a little camera shy, felt so comfortable by Julian’s approach of letting us wander and be ourselves whilst he took the shots. The whole experience was magical and Julian had some fantastic ideas such as us dancing in front of a band in the Piazza San Marco and covering us in pigeon feed for them to fly around us!!! The whole experience was very easy and the shots never felt like a chore. Julian’s Italian also assisted when negotiating a gondola!
We decided on a picture book album but nothing could have prepared us for its actual beauty. It is simply breathtaking. Julian has put together a variety of black and white shots and mixed them with colour. The total effect is stunning and we are so very, very happy. Everyone is so impressed with the album.
We both feel that Julian has provided us with the best record for our special day that we could have ever imagined. We can thoroughly recommend both Julian’s work and Julian himself.”
